Early Childhood Specialist

We’ve got a great opportunity for an Early Childhood Specialist to join the team located at our new Family Center at 1591 Taos Road in Pueblo.

What You’d Be Doing

As an Early Childhood Specialist at the Family Center you would be a vital contributor to the health and wellbeing of young children and their families in Pueblo. You would be working across systems providing mental health services to assure the best quality care for our clients.

Specifically, the Early Childhood Specialist

  • Provides direct therapeutic services to children from birth through 8 years of age;
  • Conducts developmental screening, assessments, and intake interviews;
  • Provides mental health consultation services to families at the Family Center and in their home;
  • Provides mental health consultation to early care and education providers at their agencies for children ages 0-5;
  • Offers education and training to families, and early care and education providers on topics related to early childhood social and emotional development;
  • Provides outreach to early care and education providers;
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records;
  • Applies appropriate innovations in early childhood mental health field; and
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For—The Must-Haves

  • A graduate degree in social work, psychology, or a closely related field
  • At least one year of mental health treatment experience with children under 5 years of age
  • Colorado driver’s license and access to transportation during work hours

What We’d Like to See in You—The Nice-to-Haves

  • Colorado professional license
  • Experience using Diagnostic Classification for 0-5 “DC 0-5” manual
  • Experience in early childhood mental health consultation
  • Spanish language skills
